In February 2026, the Savanna May Royes Flight Safety Grant was established in honour of Savy.
As an annual grant of $2,000, this initiative aims to support Black female aviators who are members of the Urban Pilots Network, and will address financial barriers by providing funds specifically for flight safety materials and attendance at an international flight safety convention. These conventions provide pilots and aviation professionals with valuable insight into best practices, emerging technologies, and risk management strategies, and help provide aids necessary to decrease aviation-related accidents.
Donations are being collected and receipted by The Dream Never Dies Foundation, a charity organization in memory of Lloyd Christopher Skeen, in support of the Savanna May Royes Flight Safety Grant.
The Dream Never Dies Foundation is a registered Canadian charity that funds scholarships for deserving students across Ontario, inspiring youth through aviation.
Donations will then be sent to the Urban Pilots & Professionals Network annually to award one Grant recipient a sum of $2,000.
